An 8×12 inch photograph hand signed by divemaster and stunt double John ‘Big John’ McLaughlin in “Thunderball”.
Big John was a major contributor to the underwater sequences in the film. He doubled for Adolfo Celi during the action scenes and also portrayed a number of Largo’s henchmen.
A rare autograph which was signed for the collection of Steve Oxenrider in September in 2007.
Steve became good friends with Big John over the years and this is one of several photograph he signed.
As well as “Thunderball”, Big John also worked on “Dr. No”, “Goldfinger”, “You Only Live Twice”, “Live & Let Die”, “The Spy Who Loved Me”, “Moonraker”, “For Your Eyes Only”, “Never Say Never Again” and “Licence To Kill”.
Caution should be considered for collectors as a large number of forgeries originating from a German counterfeiter, supposedly signed by Big John on an underwater photo of him as Largo in “Thunderball”. These signature are difficult to differentiate to the genuine article.
